One of my favorite things about our place in L.A. is the beautiful lemon tree in your garden. It grows tons of lemons every year and I'm trying to use the lemons as much as I can. Besides the obvious, like lemonade, I make this amazing scrub that I thought I'd share with you guys. It's honestly way better than anything I've ever bought in a store. And it's 100% natural.

INGREDIENTS //

JUICE OF LEMON, COCONUT OIL, SEA SALT, SUGAR, ESSENTIAL OIL (I used tea tree oil)

Lemons have some pretty great benefits. They act like a natural "bleach" and lighten nails, skin, and hair. In combination with the sugar and salt that cleans the pores and exfoliate dead skin cells, it makes for the perfect summer scrub. The coconut oil keeps your skin moisturized and glowy. I always add a couple of drops of oils, this time I happened to have tea tree oil at home, which is a great antiseptic and works really well with ingrown hairs.

HOW TO MAKE IT

I really depends on the quantity yore making, but for a regular size mason jar I start by squeezing the juice from 1-2 lemons (depending on size). Add 3 tablespoons of coconut oil then fill up with equal parts salt and sugar unil you get a texture that's good.

DID YOU KNOW

That exfoliation increases the circulation under the skin layer which can help prevent the appearance of cellulite. Exfoliating also gives you a more even and long lasting tan, especially if you're using self-tanners! Try to scrub your entire body 1-2 times a week.
